Parent Support Worker
Parent Support Worker based at West Vale Primary School
Scale 5, Part-Time 15 hrs per week with a start time prior to school opening of approx. 8.45 a.m. hours are to be arranged flexibly

Required as soon as possible a highly efficient, motivated and committed colleague, with a proven track record of working with children and families, to improve outcomes for children, ensuring they are safeguarded at all times.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to carry out Safeguarding responsibilities, in accordance with school policy, procedure and the most recent Keeping Children Safe in Education publication. You will also work with teachers and the wider school team to raise attendance levels of targeted families.
Acting as an initial point of contact for parents with queries, you will offer them practical advice and guidance. At times, you may need to demonstrate resilience and tenacity to effectively challenge families, to bring about improvements for our pupils' welfare, attendance and progress and to support parents to improve their children's behaviour.
You will need to be adaptable and flexible to fulful the requirements of the post. Your role will include providing support for children and families, representing the school in meetings with parents and other professionals and carrying out a range of administrative tasks associated with safeguarding, welfare and attendance. Support will be offered from existing staff based across the Trust.
